Updates

Investigation Unit member Asif Khan told PPF that none of the accused were arrested while the case was under investigation. He added that they were trying their best to arrest the accused.
On September 20, 2021, media reports stated that the Islamabad Police Counter Terrorism Department and Punjab CTD had arrested an individual named Syed Abid Ali Shah from the Kurram Agency in connection with Khan’s murder. The news was confirmed by the then information minister Sheikh Rahseed.
Khan’s father, Obaidullah told PPF that a few months prior to Rasheed’s announcement, he had been called by police to recognize the accusers but their faces were covered and he refused to recognize them with their faces covered.
He added that in 2021 two lawyers in Islamabad and Abbottabad had refused to take on Khan’s case. He said that he had no updates on the case since then and the last time had approached the court was in early 2022.
“No one informed me about any update in the case or whether the accuser was arrested or not. Rasheed’s press conference had nothing to do with reality, no one arrested anyone” Obaidullah lamented.
