Summary of Case

On June 2, 2007, a reporter for the Urdu-language Daily Pakistan and vice president of the Tribal Union of Journalists, Noor Hakim Khan, was amongst five killed in a roadside bombing in Bajaur Agency in erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). Khan’s body was shifted to the agency headquarters hospital, Khar.

Reader to the assistant commissioner, Anwar Hussain, said that at the time of Khan's death there was no system of FIRs, adding that the killer was a terrorist. He said that no one had yet been arrested and the case had been closed. Khan's family did not try to pursue the case either.
